What is YAH RAH SARAH?
YAH RAH Sarah is the second hymn of our service and inspired songs that carries a deeply heavenly mystery
It holds an heavenly inspired meaning of lighting, kindling a light.
It is sung as a call or decree to light the candles.
Let take a vivid look in order to have full understanding of its meaning
Genesis 1 v 3
Then God said, let there be light and there was light.
This was where Yah RAH SARAH began, and thus it follows this very precept and command of God.

Kindle the light
Divine from heaven above
A light is a source of illumination, and illumination means to shine light, to glow, to expose to light
If light is illumination, then Hymn 781 stanza 3 tells us more :
“Ilumination is Christ he will kindle his light for us
In Jesus believe this day
He will save us”
To kindle is to ignite, to inspire
To kindle the light is asking for an higher source of light to descend.
To inspire is to communicate to the spirit, or convey divine or supernatural influence
To kindle a light is simply telling us this :
Since Christ is the everlasting light(see CCC Hymn 10, 216), we can only access the presence of God by him, and through his light
Let’s see another, Divine from heaven above :
Hymn 205 st 1 acknowledges God as the king of heavenly light(olorun oba imole)
The light from heaven above Is Jesus Christ
Imole imole imole latode orun wa(the light, the light, the light, the Heavenly light)
Wa wonu okan mi Jesu(come into my heart, Jesus)
And in the midst of the seven candlestick one like unto the son of man clothed with a garment down to the foot
At the rendering of YAH RAH Sarah, Jesus Christ himself descends into our midst to sanctify and light us away from darkness and sin
Kristi Oba OLOGO (christ the king of glory)
Kristi Oba imole (christ the king of light)
Tan mole re sarin wa(kindle thy light in our midst)
Ka le bo ninu ese(what we may be free from sin)
To come to light is to come to God (see hymn 288 stanza 7)
To behold the light is to see the glory of God in manifestation
Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart
Luke 2 :30-32
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation which thou had prepared before the face of all people, a light to lighten the gentiles and the glory of thy people Israel
And the city had no need of the sun, neither the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamb is the light thereof.
Celestial is the abode of light that came descended from above (see hymn 55 v 2, and 205 v 3)
Christ carries two personality of light : shining(see hymn 202) and everlasting(216)
Darkness can never overcome light, and it disappears at the presence of light(see hymn 457)
Christ is the light that has come and descends each time( see hymn 190).
Anywhere there is light, God reigns, dwells, lives and is king there.. This is what the call of YAH RAH Sarah does.
Christ is the kindling of the light, as kindling of the light is only access that leads to the presence of God(see hymn 525 St 4)
Hymn 205 reminds us, that God is the king of light, whom no sin can come before. Each time we sing YAH RAH Sarah, we are calling Christ to lead us, grant us access, cleanse us from sins that hinder us.
Yah Rah Sarah is calling us to the presence of God and leading us there.
Yah Rah Sarah, descends the light, the glory, the presence and the Holy spirit
This is why the light for the children of the light is the Holy spirit which can only be accessed from the presence of God.
Imole yi fun omo imole(the light for the childeen of light)
Emi mimo emi alaye(Holy spirit, the living spirit)
To wa lodo baba (dwelleth with our father)
