The Challenges of the Menstrual Laws in Celestial Fold
Constitutionally in Section 189 page 50, and Section 93 page 30, item 8 on the role of female members, and celestial tenets
It is repeated here that female members during menstruation are not allowed to come within the precincts of the church until after their sanctification after seven days, two days clear should be allowed for after stopping before sanctification(Lev 15 v 19, Matt 5 :17-19)
I would like to say this tenet is balanced and apt scripturally and spiritually and is not the doctrine of any man
this tenet isn’t given to impose difficulty or inconvenience on our women rather it speaks of God’s relation and grace with us.
Consequently with the advent of time, this tenet has had the need for review in several situations and circumstances.
1. On the part of those living in the church premises such as the shepherd’s wife and daughter
2. As time goes on, with women staying put at home on crucial days away from church, they miss out in worship and also fellowship, and this might cause for some boredom(social media has helped in some ways to limit)
No one truly loves to miss the presence of God or the gathering of the saints at church.
3. Many Parishes have began to create space outside the church auditorium for those in their period, those in mufti to be relegated outside and still participate in service which hasn’t hindered worship or God’s working
4. In the aspect of contact or touch with someone in their period, one is also regarded as unclean, hence provision in some climes is made that chairs, for those in the state are marked and separated from main ones.
We must also say that while mingling with other people whom are not celestian in buses, on bikes, etc, one can get unclean as well by contact and hence the sanctified water at the entrance is provided for such situation.
5. During naming ceremonies/harvests etc where non celestians or visitors are invited, there is often a level of grace that allows those in period in but the church is sanctified immediately afterwards.
Some even during consultation do come to the premises, buy candles for counselling but are not prevented access to the church premises.
6. The newly born mother on the day of the ceremony comes to the church with the child, unclean but is permitted in the premises.
Isn’t she also unclean as the woman who is in period is.
The architecture and mode of spiritual operation in celestial church is quite unique
God doesn’t tolerate uncleanliness but we must note that uncleanliness in the climes does not refer to only the body but also the heart
For everything that concerns God, requires holiness and cleanliness, He is holy, hence we must be holy
Hence anytime there is uncleanliness in one way or the other, sanctification is very paramount and must be done.
Constitutionally wise in section 48, page 14, the holy spirit descended on a married woman and thus says narratively ‘you married woman, you are in your menstrual period, you want to see the glory of Jesus, do ask her whether or not she is in her period”
Still another said you young woman you know very well you have just had sexual relations and you have not bathed to cleanse yourself, I am a selective God.
God still used an unclean woman in this case to prove a point :
The glory of God beholds no uncleanliness and God expects nothing short of cleanliness from us.
Being unclean isn’t just about menstrual flow even sexual intercourse is on the same pedal of uncleanliness but yet no one pays attention to it.
Being in menstrual period wouldn’t stop God’s operation as seen in many cases but not doing sanctification could limit the operation of his glory
I have notice and seen the following happen.
A. God used a woman in her menstrual period week and ceased the blood flow for the whole duration until a day after she descended.
God took control here knowing that the flow would make her unholy physically for the work
Someone may be unholy bodily but clean spiritually and this is where one sees a woman in menses given prophecy
One of such scenario was a prophetess in trance but suddenly had the flow, and immediately was restored back to normal senses to go and purify herself
She had become unclean for the purpose of God at that moment.
God speaks to women even in their menses, they prophesy in their menses proving that one can be physically unclean but spiritually clean in heart.
Holiness matters not just physically but also spiritually in the sight of God.
B. God didn’t libel this tenet as overimposing on us as regards those living in the premises.
This is why room is given for sanctification to make both the person pure and the premises.
Sunday sanctification involves all the premises and the church because the stand of God with us is holiness at all times.
C. Times are changing, the stand of God doesnt change.
Sanctification must yet be done. Holiness must be ensured
In Recent times, the era we are, is more challenging for women to stay at home on sundays dismissed from service, though social media is helping
Hence here are my resolution from this :
Women can be allowed to come to premises but not to come inside the church of which sanctification ought to be done for the church and the premises consequently
Sanctification for menses is very important and necessary for all women in celestial fold to remain physically and spiritually pure.
Sanctification of the church and its premises should be done consequently
