In Celestial church of Christ, according to our Constitution, alcohol is forbidden for its members because it’s repugnant to the Holy spirit but today we do not adhere to this. During our harvest, you find youths and elders alike displaying all sorts of alcoholic drinks. Even the world today, you can barely tell them that Celestial don’t drink alcohol.
Biblically, alcohol is not totally condemned but to know whether something is good or bad, we should look at the aftermath effect or the fruits it bears.
The Bible warns and tells us to abstain from drinking to prevent irresponsibility and Shame.
In CCC, the Holy spirit is inversely proportional to alcohol i. e. As alcohol increases, holy spirit reduces. There is a biblical reward for abstaining from alcohol, examples of the rechabites who were honored by God.
When Christ turned the water to wine, he was not calling us to wine drinking, he was telling us to leave the old wine of sin and take the new wine of repentance.
Christ is the wine of life sweeter than any other wine.
Many CCC members are not even ashamed, they drink alcohol even on white garment. The sidemen drink too and still come to perform the Holy duties. The choir sing and drum today under the influence of alcohol, instead of the Holy spirit. Alcohol has always been a part of life and can never be condemned but drinking of alcohol should be minimal for a Christian. People might say sorts of things against God if a Christian behaves irresponsibility.
The angels that work in our church does not like the smell of alcohol. Devil uses the irresponsibility of alcohol to cause chaos in our worship and service to God. We are a consecrated generation and people, sanctified for a divine purpose.
It’s the youth that have even embraced the culture of drinking alcohol in garment, some when you talk to them, their mouth would be smelling for gin. Alcohol might be medicinal. It’s used to cure depression but can add to depression. Alcohol shouldn’t be taken in an holy place and by a consecrated person. I have used alcohol personally for medicinal purpose. Mixing small stout with ewe eruwo(eruwo leaf) to make malaria herb. God isn’t against that but drinking it openly, irresponsibly is very wrong. We don’t even have the fear of God in our heart anymore because we have given our selves to the pleasures of the world.
Funny enough you will see people quoting Bible to support alcohol drinking but they don’t look at the aftermath effects, spiritually, medically and in all ramifications. A person who gives his life to alcohol has no life. To be continued.
