1.Obedience and Humility.
Christ taught us to be obedient, no matter how great a personality you are obedience is a virtue we must possess. Obedience stands us out, it makes us feel loved and help in high regard.
Christ made us know that humility is a great factor in the life of a Christian, throughout this period He was so HUMBLE.
James 4:10: Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and he shall lift you up. With all the power and authority he had, he remained humble just to achieve that purpose for which he was sent.
2:6 Adopt the same attitude as that of
Christ Jesus, who, existing in the
form of God, did not consider
equality with God as something
to be exploited.
2:7 Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the
likeness of humanity.
2:8 And when he had come as a man, he
humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death even to death on a cross.
2. Exemplified Service to man as a leader
Jesus was the master but he was able to wash the feet of his disciples, what does this teach us? This teaches us to be good leaders leading by good examples. A good leader must also be a good disciple, the example he lays are the tracks his disciples follow.
13:12 When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed
his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you?
13:13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.
13:14 If I then, your
Lord and Teacher, have washed
your feet, you also ought to wash
one another’s feet.
13:15 For I have
given you an example, that you
also should do just as I have
done to you.
In verse 14 Jesus was able to instil the act into them because they saw him as a worthy leader who will never derail them. 3. He gave us hope
Jesus came to die for us all so we can have a taste of the life he promised us. He kindled our light of hope, so as to believe him more and walk with him. He died and rose again
Peter saw the way the napkin was arranged, it gave him hope that Jesus had risen.
4. He made us Heirs to his throne
Christ coming to sacrifice himself for us speaks volume. He did this so we can have access to him when he comes back to harvest us all.
This week should instill the habit of forgiveness into the heart of man. No matter the offence of the offender forgiveness should be applied. Even on the cross at the point of death Jesus could still forgive man for his actions. Don’t say you can’t forgive, you can, allow the spirit to lead you. Most people when they are being offended, they allow anger to take over them. Get angry but don’t go to the extreme but at the end forgive.
6. Be Prayerful
Jesus had to pray because he needed to be strengthened to further Luke 22:43. This means prayer strengtheneth man for a greater cause. Prayer is a spiritual communication between you and God. How fervent you prayer determined the level of strength you possess.
Remember The effectual prayer of the saints availeth much.
7. Continually seek the kingdom of God
What would it profit us to go through this week, observing every of the events and still we aren’t in line for the kingdom prize. It will please Christ seeing us walking in his commandments and in the end make heaven, this would mean his sufferings for us didn’t go in vain.
1Cor 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
