7 notes when attending an harvest
By Brother Tola Adele
“Be in spirit”
Always ensure to be in spirit.. Clear your mind of carnality….
Always know that harvest is of the spirit and not of the flesh.
“Dont take alcohol”
Alcohol makes one dwell in flesh than in spirit.
And is a direct disobedience to the dictates of the spirit
The one that takes alcohol has only harvested to the flesh and not to the spirit.
Fighting is a weapon Satan uses to steal away blessings in an harvest and is a product of the flesh. Fighting brings curse in an harvest.
“Avoid gluttony and greediness”
Many of the vices in an harvest are results of not been in spirit
Many often pack meats and others in expense of others..
This is meant to go round for everyone.
“Sow a seed”
Make sure you sow a seed with God privately with a covenant to come reap and testify the next year.
Challenge God with the bazaar and see whether you won’t be blessed.
“First thing first”
Have priority and focus in an harvest
Be a Mary than a Martha who focused on food than Christ
Set your priorities properly in the harvest
Music, food, dancing are all secondary, the purpose of the harvest is primary
Dont miss this for anything. Most people would be busy eating when this is going on.
Blessings are often released in thanksgiving but many people often miss out on this.
Dont be found wanting when the worship is going on. Let worship saturate your heart and spirit even when you are doing something.
Dont be found sitting outside when others are in worship.
Many miss out on harvest blessings by doing this
“Give alms and be kind”
You never can tell who is who..
Different people come to an harvest even angels and divine beings….there might be an angel in disguise of a beggar, blindman, or even a child.
They might come to test you….angels come to feast too especially during an harvest
“Have a part in it”
Contribute to the harvest and have a portion in it whether materially, financially, intellectually or physically
“Have a generous and giving heart”
Go to an harvest with a heart of generosity and cheerful giving to God and people.
Treat everyone well and speak to them kindly.
Dont miss the sermon….for every text has a meaning.
Half of the church would be outside by the time the sermon commences.
The sermon is a seed of the spirit and keeps you conscious of the reason for the harvest
“Be Cheerful and Joyous”
Dont be the reason why someone would be unhappy or with a sad face on an harvest
Dont ruin another person’s joy.
Be happy and cheerful spreading the joy of the harvest to everyone
