Ipese, the lovefeast rich in joy and blessings

Oozing hot in a big cooler
We love it when it is hot
Than when it becomes cold or cooler
Bring all the trays and basin
The beans must get to each person

Yum, Yum, Yum
The sweetness of ipese you can’t fathom
As soon as we gather to pray
Just hold on to your tray

And simply get me a plate
Hope I didn’t come late
Missing out I can’t contemplate
Only a Celestial can relate

Before your eyes
That full cooler gets to the bottom
And when you get to realize
All that is left is just atom

That mixture of beans and coconut
To wait longer we cannot
With the richness of honey and maize
The sweetness is what amazes
That it gives you a joyous grimace

As soon as you come close
The sweet aroma fills your nose
Until a munch reaches your mouth
You may not know what is about

Come together let’s eat
Many reaching fingers to eat with
Let’s find a place to sit
Some dont even bother about a seat
