How do we treat newcomers and first-timers in the church
#When a new person comes to the church for the first time, they are often hungry, and looking for something in their lives and most of the churches they may have visit are good at saying hello and greeting them.
#they must have heard alot about us and seek to confirm if its true observing everything like an electoral body
#They often encounter harsh and uncourteous sidesmen and those at the entrance who may not properly address them, make them feel at home, welcomed, and comfortable
#At times this people may do things that are not usual like going to the wrong place, but the tone of harshness often make them feel uncomfortable.
We often correct or address strangers with harsh tones and ways of speaking when it comes to the protocols and rules of the church
#Attention and welcome is often limited. No one seems to notice them or even care or observe that there is a new person among us with our atmosphere of hostility and chokiness.
#They soon find out most of the happening and what the church has to offer but observe that only those who have internal connection with the church get this
Some members don’t bother and soon expose the true colors of themselves whilst he watches, as we do, making his own generalization
#The Shepherd isn’t concerned about the new comer, he might not even have a welcoming look forgetting that he has a call to bring lost sheep’s into the Lord’s fold
#If he needs a prophet attention he is delayed and left unattended at his own peril.
Or a prophet pulls him out, there is no one often to follow him up and lead him
#He may soon see some of the loopholes of the church displayed right away by the members and his heart is drawn in wondering if he can worship there
The church can never grow if we keep mistreating and chasing newcomers away if we continue to be hostile, impolite, lacking courtesy and welfare, careless attitude towards people.
Do we even care about our members before we care of outsiders.
