A.Look beyond the church and look at the person

The church is not to be blamed much for the failure of marriage but look at the person in the church.
Look thoroughly into the cadre of persons in the church.
The church is like an hospital with all sorts of people who come for treatment for ailments.
Look deeply into the persons for the true sons.
At times the church is not the problem but the people in it.
Let your marital search be in the church but well filtered, looked into
Abraham chose a wife among his brethren for Isaac (Beyond insightfulness)

B. Not everyone in the church is a christian

Because someone is a prophet, chorister, sideman, or minister, or the son of the shepherd, or the daughter of the chairman does not make them a christian
If you are of the belief that everyone in church is a christian you have killed yourself.
Find a true christian, by their fruit you shall find them and know them in the church.
Because a person is spiritual, sing melodiously and prays with fire doesn’t make them a christian.
There are many beasts disguising under the name I am a christian
Find a real Christian

C. Do not be deceived by appearance or looks

Looks are most deceiving and beauty a
facade that fades off, the height is a mirage.
Godly choice are not based on appearance, just as God told prophet Samuel.
Appearance is not the way of God in choice but the heart.
The most handsome looking or beautiful may be a snake that would bite you.
Many have lost their God sent spouse because of illusions about how they look like and many fantasy and fairytale expectations

D. Lean not on your own understanding or wisdom.

Don’t use your wisdom to decide. Seek divine wisdom and heavenly wisdom(Prov 3 v 5)
Children of the kingdom trust only heavenly wisdom.
Let your motto be “In God I trust ”

E. Build a standard on the right foundation

Any relationship that has no foundation in Jesus Christ, the word of God and holy spirit will fail and be a disappointment.
If God doesn’t build the house, the builders build in vain.
A good relationship and marriage is built on the foundation laid by God.

F. Don’t get carried away and enticed

This is what Satan use to mislead people, he gets them carried away and enticed with details of no importance.
Nothing should carry you away from God’s way.
Satan use little things to entice you and grab your notice to the wrong channels.

G. Follow the will of God and obey instructions
Do not contravene God’s will for your life, follow his timing, and obey his instructions, and guides for your marital life(Deut 28)
He always gives instructions and if you obey it, it would bring marital blessings

H. Prepare Spiritually
Your spiritual life affects a great deal of your physical life.
Hence you must be prepared spiritually in prayer and fellowship with the holy spirit.

I. Spirit of Discerning
You must pray for the spirit to discern God’s will and choice for your life and also the spirit of awareness to locate them.
When the holy spirit is rich in you, it will be your guide

J. FIND SOMEONE WHO MAKES YOU DO GOD’S WILL

The first test would be sex.
There are some whom will demand sex from you before marriage and some will tell you to keep it God’s way.
Some will invite you to their home and their bed, and you know what that means.
Find a brother or sister that makes you do God’s will .
