The Children of the Shepherd ; A need to teach and train them in the ways of the lord
The Shepherd’s children refers to the children of the clergy in the celestial fold, popularly called “Omo Oluso”
They are the Samuel’s of the house of the lord serving God from a tender age due to the ministerial dispense on their parents.
The grace of God shines upon them a lot but today many of them are Hophni and Phinehas
There was a levitical covenant and priesthood upon the family of Eli that his household would serve the lord but he ruined it because he abandoned the teaching, discipline of his children
They are the sons of a king but sadly you would see the sons of king linger and strive because the kingship has been abused.
Their birthright in the covenant of priesthood is soon given to another due to this abuse
The levitical covenant and priesthood still holds strong in Celestial fold
If a Shepherd has 7 children, if not all, at least 3 will find themselves in the vineyard or priesthood.
A large percentage of them grew up in the Lord’s premises, and carry the Lord’s promises serving and ministering in the house of God, at even the littlest of place
But Sadly, a large number of them are neglected, and unattended to by parents and even the church at large
A lot of factors and circumstances affect their growth, development.
If their father is a transfer shepherd, they have to change schools and environment like a woman changes wrapper and this also affects them and their growth
They are left untrained, untaught, abandoned to grow on their house without proper tutelage, attention and the lucky ones are abandoned to the grace of God
This is what has produced shepherds children that do immoralities, dress indecently and even pretend while at church, but are worse when far away
Their shaping has been affected from childhood due to neglect, no action, no discipline, or correction on the part of the Shepherds.
Some shepherds children don’t know what is parental love and care because their parents never had time for them
Many shepherds children behave and act undisciplined because they are not being taught or raised properly from childhood
Their childhood was of neglect and abandonment from their parents.
The parents are too far away or carried away from their children.
1 Samuel 2 verse 12
12Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD
The sons of Eli, Hophi and phinehas are the sons of the priest, just like the children of a Shepherd, but they knew not the LORD
34And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them. 35And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
This fault falls mostly the shepherds, just like Eli, the energy that is suppose to be expended in training, teaching and guiding their children is expended on other things.
Most shepherds expend all their energy on the church and never have time for their family or children
Only few shepherds have time to check or help their children do their school assignment.
They always don’t have time for those children.
This children often have a lot of questions, and curiosity that is left unanswered and later on a negative mindset about shepherding and the church is developed out of this
Some Shepherds create extra problems by causing a stir in the family, with illicit affairs, marrying extra wife and dividing their homes.
There are instances where Shepherd’s children rebel and despise their father, because they negate what they stand for or preach.
Many Shepherd’s children have walked away from the church due to their parents, wandered away due to neglect
This has lead to regret and even an error to the church
When they lose their parents, they are exposed to the storms and hardship of the world with no welfare and care.
This makes them despise the service of the LORD and see no benefit in it.
It is high time we pay attention to the children in the vineyard.
Their upbringing, tutelage and growing should be given attention and time.
Shepherds should endeavor to train, and teach their children properly the fear of God, the ways of God and how to minister in the house of God.
Dear Shepherds, its high time you need to realize that Your ministry fails if your family(wife and children fails)
Your ministry is affected by your family
You must love your family before the ministry
A failed ministry is one where the family is scattered and in chaos.
As much as you sacrifice time and effort for ministry, do same twice for your family and children
Your children and wife are the hallmark of your ministry and your legacy of service
